Highlight reels are the visuals carousel on a published app — the images and video people swipe through in the feed before they tap play. Whip auto-captures highlights straight from your real running app the moment your build finishes, and you can upload your own images or video too. You get up to 10 visuals, with one short video allowed. Good visuals do a lot of quiet work: they’re the first impression that decides whether someone plays your app or scrolls past.

Where your visuals come from

You have two ways to fill your carousel, and you can mix them.
As soon as your app finishes building, Whip starts generating highlights from your real, running app — actual frames of the thing you made, not AI artwork. You’ll see live capture progress as it works, and the visuals are often ready before you even reach the publish screen. When you get to the visuals step, they’re waiting for you.

The limits, plainly

Up to 10 visuals

Your carousel holds a maximum of 10 items total — any mix of images and video.

One video, kept short

You can include at most one video, up to 30 seconds long and up to 50 MB.

Drag to reorder

Rearrange your visuals by dragging them — the first one is what people see first, so lead with your strongest.

Swap any time

Not happy with a shot? Remove it and add another before you publish.
Put your most eye-catching visual first. In a fast-scrolling feed, the opening image is what earns the tap on Try Whip.

Where your visuals show up

Your highlight reel travels with your app across Whip:
  • Feed cards — the carousel people swipe through before playing.
  • The app sheet — the detail view that opens when someone taps your app.
  • Instagram shares — when someone shares your app to Instagram, a preview image goes along for the ride.
Highlight reels are for published apps — they’re part of the publish flow. A private app you only share by link doesn’t need a carousel.
