Can you unpublish a Whip app? Archive vs delete

Whip has no one-tap unpublish. To take an app back, archive it to hide it from your Home, or delete it to remove it for good. Here’s how each works.

Whip doesn’t have a one-tap “unpublish” button today — once an app is public, there’s no switch to flip it private again from the app. What you can do is Archive it, which hides it from your own Home without deleting it, or Delete it, which removes the app entirely. If you need a published app taken down, deleting it is the way.

Archive: tidy up your Home

Archiving is about your view. It tucks an app out of your Home screen and into the Archived tab on your profile, so your library stays tidy. Nothing is deleted, and you can unarchive it from that tab whenever you want it back.

1. Open the app's menu

   Press and hold the app on your Home, or open its menu from your profile.

2. Tap Archive Whip

   It moves to the Archived tab on your profile. Unarchive from there any time.

Archiving is the gentle option — it’s about keeping your own space tidy, not about taking something away from other people.

Delete: remove it for good

Deleting removes the whole app permanently — for you and for anyone who played it. It’s the option to reach for when you truly want an app gone, including taking a published app off the feed and search.

1. Open the app's menu

2. Tap Delete Whip and confirm

   Whip asks you to confirm, because this can’t be undone.

Deleting is permanent — there’s no bringing an app back. Deleting also switches off that app’s share links, so anyone holding one can no longer open it. If you only want to declutter your own Home, archive instead.

How do I make a published app private again?

There’s no unpublish toggle in the app right now. To take a published app off the feed and search, delete it.
