How to share a Whip app with friends

Share any Whip app with a private link. Copy it or send it to Instagram, X, or Reddit — friends open it straight in Whip and get their own copy.

To share a Whip app, tap the share option from the app or the publish screen, then copy the link or send it to Instagram, X, Reddit, or your phone’s share sheet. The link looks like whip.run/share/<code>. Whoever opens it lands straight in the app inside Whip — and each person gets their own private copy to play.

Share links work for private apps too. That makes them the “just us” way to share — you keep your app off the public feed and still send it to exactly the people you choose.

Share your app

1. Open the share options

   From your app, or right after you publish, tap to share. You’ll see options to copy link, or send to Instagram, X, Reddit, or your phone’s system share sheet (which reaches messages, email, and any app you like).

2. Send it however you want

   Pick a destination. Whip hands off a link like whip.run/share/<code>, where the code is a unique 12-character tag for that version of your app.

3. Your friend opens it

   Tapping the link takes them straight to your app inside Whip. They’ll need the free Whip app to play it — the link points them there if they don’t have it yet.

Everyone gets their own copy

When someone opens your shared app, they get their own private copy. Their data is theirs. Yours stays yours. Nobody sees anyone else’s stuff — a shared habit tracker doesn’t mix your streaks with your friend’s, and a shared game keeps each person’s progress separate. If your app has a leaderboard, that’s the one place scores are shared — everyone competes on the same board.

Turn links on and off

You’re in control of every link you create.

Revoke one link

Kill a single share link without touching the others. Anyone holding that exact link can no longer open the app.

Revoke all links

Shut off every share link for a version at once.

A share link also stops working if you delete the app. If you only revoked a link, re-sharing turns it back on using the same code — but a deleted app is gone for good.

Yes — they’ll need the free Whip app and an account to play your app. Your link takes them straight there.

Can I share a private app?

Absolutely. Share links work for private apps, so you can send something to a few people without publishing it to everyone.

Will people see my data in the app?

No. Each person gets their own copy — your data inside the app is never shared with anyone who opens your link.

I revoked a link by mistake — can I undo it?

Yes. Share the version again and the same link reactivates with its original code.
